As promised, 12 projects for Christmas, installment #1. Now, I realize it is already the 10th. I'll get them out there, I promise, it's later than I thought, so they'll be easy, fast little projects that might brighten one person's day!
This first little project is made from a little Kaiser Craft Victorian Tag Album. I separated the pages to make a hanging Christmas ornament:
The thin wood pages make for a nice, sturdy ornament. I used the very glittery music notes paper from Art Warehouse, the photo is matted on flocked red paper from Doodlebug, number stickers are the small glittered alpha's from MM, top and bottom are embellished with clear stars, tiny jingle bells and red buttons threaded with silver ribbon. I papered both the front and back, and you could add a photo to both sides (I'm sill looking for the elusive second photo, but I love this one of my oldest and youngest :) And, if any of you know me, I traced the tag shape on the back of the paper and cut with scissors, if you are not exacto-challenged like me, you could use an exacto knife :) People always ask me about how I adhere different things to wood, paper, etc...I use a variety of adhesives. My stand-by is either liquid 'Scrappy Glue,' or I use 'Zip Dry' or 'Art Glitter' designer glue, all of which dries clear. when I apply it to paper, I make sure I use a thin layer so as not to wrinkle the paper. For photos I usually use my Tombow mono roller or Kuyoko double sided tape runner.
Hope you like my first little project, if you happen to a photo of your child and teacher it would make a cute teacher gift, or a co-worker, a cute inner-office gift exchange, or a cute stocking stuffer!
I'll keep these rolling in until I get the 12 done! The kits for this project are available at the store for purchase.
I don't know why, but it's been a 'not so good week,' other than our anniversary last Sat. (we had a great dinner and night together). I have to say, when the day is done, I'm so blessed I have Stan to go home to at night :)
Here's to the week getting better, and you having a good rest of the week!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Suzie
Hope yours is a good one!

that's a cool project! I love zip glue, too. Until I got my Creative Memories tape runner, it was pretty much the only thing I used.
